Nebraska (2013) English Movie Short Review

Nebraska Short review I have never actually thought a black and white film could be so starkingly beautiful, until I watched ‘Nebraska’, the 2013 gem, directed by Alexander Payne and written by Bob Nelson. This poignant journey of a father and a son across the American urban landscape is one that has been tersely written and deftly captured.

Woody Grant, and his determination to make it to Lincoln to claim an imaginary sweepstakes prize, isn’t something that his wife takes too kindly to, and when the couple’s younger son David decides to drive his dad to Nebraska, she’s far from amused. This is one expedition that would transform David’s relationship with his dad forever, and as they make their way towards Lincoln, many acquaintances are renewed and rediscoveries are made.

‘Nebraska’ has some solid performances from its lead actors – Bruce Dern, Will Forte, June Squibb and Bob Odenkirk – and together they take us along on this jolly ride that lasts for one hundred and fourteen minutes. Not forgetting to mention the real hilarious moments that lie along the way.

Verdict: Highly Recommended
