By the time it’s over, neither the film nor the subject that it had concerned itself with remains in your memory, and all that you are left thinking about is how the film had hit the bottom.

With an end that turns out to be superbly touching and a driving narrative that is consistently engaging, Jean Paul Lal’s film is a winner all the way. A perfect weekend watch for a family on the Christmas vacation, this is a lovely film that has both its heart and soul right in place.

It goes without saying that it’s a miracle that the film makers believed that a theme as this could work wonders in 2019. And it’s even a greater marvel that they got several sensible heads to give a nod to this project that could have probably made a ripple a good fifteen or twenty years back.

The intrigue that shrouds the title ‘Ira’ barely makes its ways into the film. It is less about victims or even victimization and more a customary plot on the hunters and the hunted; a generic fare that simply isn’t rousing enough to have your hair standing on its ends.

‘Sherlock Toms’ is a daft film that is neither alluring nor even remotely interesting. Forget all the incoherence that underlies it, it’s a comedy that glumly fails to conjure up even some simple laughter that would render it memorable or worthwhile.

Despite a premise that is loaded with possiblities that I’m sure most viewers would have taken to eagerly with a bit of inquisitiveness, ‘Bobby’ reaches nowhere near any of its triumphant predecessors. It lacks the tastefulness that could have done it tons of good, and instead strikes you as a dramatic overstatement on love that attempts to defy age constraints.
