Sufiyum Sujathayum (2020) Malayalam Movie Review – Veeyen

‘Sufiyum Sujathayum’ achieves just about half of the dramatic intensity that it originally sets out to attain, and would be remembered best for the mellifluous musical score by M Jaychandran and some remarkable cinematography by Anu Moothedath. Not denying its impeccable visual quality, ‘Sufiyum Sujathayum’ comes across as a monotonous succession of scenes that strive to blow the dust away from its worn-out theme in vain.

Njan Marykutty (2018) Malayalam Movie Review – Veeyen

In a world that is often hostile to diversity, ‘Njan Marykutty’ brightly lights up a beacon of optimism. Aadu 2 (2017) Malayalam Movie Review – Veeyen

‘Aadu 2’ takes off not decidedly from where its former part had left off, since definitiveness certainly isn’t something that ‘Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu’ could pride itself on. It’s a celebration of nothingness again, and through all the noise, clamour, hoots and wolf whistles, Paappan and his team vanish, perhaps to reappear a couple of years later, in another sequel.

‘Fukri’ tells a cloistered story that threatens to fall apart any moment, and leaves you too worn down to care for any of its key characters. A non-happening drama that is academic in execution, director Siddique’s latest has a narrative that creaks at every twist and turn.

Fukri Review Veeyen

‘Fukri’ tells a cloistered story that threatens to fall apart any moment, and leaves you too worn down to care for any of its key characters. A non-happening drama that is academic in execution, director Siddique’s latest has a narrative that creaks at every twist and turn.

Lucky (Jayasurya) is an Engineering dropout, who lands in a fix, having knocked down a temple and a mosque, after promising to refurbish both of them. When unable to keep his assurance, Lucky flees with his friends and makes do with petty assignments, in a city somewhere far away. When Nafsi (Prayaga Martin) and Sana (Shalini) – two girls studying in a local college – approach him with a request to play their guardian before the Principal, Lucky agrees, with appalling consequences.
